Trip to Italy: 1 of 2

Hello everybody!
In this month we spent a week traveling in Italy. Was our first time in the country and we reeeeally loved! We started our journey from Pisa, a small city famous for the leaning tower. The weather was fantastic all the week. We road a bike through the place and did a break for a gelato. Have you guys ever tried the Italian gelato? Oh gosh, amazing! For dinner a friend of mine told us to tried a Fiorentina which is a 1.3kg of very soft red meat. Definitely Approved!!!
Next day was time to go to Capri Island. To arrived there we did a quick stop at Naples to try the famous pizza. Yes, you must try the pizza there, so different, so tasty, so cheap! Love it! Also Naples has one of the best Sfogliatelle in Italy. I tried a few and all of them were really good.
At Naples train station there is a Pasticceria, called Eccellenze della Costiera with lots of pastries and gelatos! We couldn't resist so we tried a small selection of pastries.
So we have three mini tarts, one cannolo and one sfogliatella. The mini tarts were: creme patissier with mini strawberry; hazelnut and jam; cherry and jam. The first one was really nice, traditional combination and the sweetness was just enough. The others two I thought were too sweet because of the jam concentration in a mini tart. The canollo was filled with the traditional ricotta filing so as the sfogliatella... both were fabulous!
Even in London you can find cannoli and sfogliatelle, so please, try them! They are unique, delicious, the most know pastries from Italy.
The interesting fact about the Patisseries in those places we visit in Italy is that they don't have cakes in the shops like layer cakes or sponge cakes, only individual pastries like rum baba, cannoli, sfogliatelle, croissants... Some shops are focus on butter cookies and savories and even though called Patisserie.
The next post I will tell you guys about Capri and Rome, but I can say that Italy is amazing. The food is unbelievable good and we had the best time ever!
